Audit Senior
Laura is a Certified Public Accountant, is Certified in Financial Forensics, is a Certified Internal Auditor, is a Certified Fraud Examiner, and has over 7 years of both public audit and private internal audit experience. Her areas of expertise include a variety of governmental entities, not-for-profit organizations, and employee benefit plans, as well as for-profit real estate, manufacturing and engineering companies. Additionally, while employed by the Texas State Auditor’s Office and Verizon Communications, Laura gained significant state government and telecommunications internal audit experience. Her specific internal audit expertise covers financial, operational, compliance, IT, and security areas.
Laura is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Laura attended the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin (UT) where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Masters in Professional Accounting degree. While attending UT, Laura received numerous academic recognitions including the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence for achieving an overall GPA of 3.8 (4.0 scale) and the Sommerfield Scholar Award for achieving a 3.9 accounting GPA (4.0 scale). Additionally, Laura scored in the top 1/10th percentile of her respective Internal Auditor professional certification exam.
Laura recently moved to Colorado and is learning to snowboard; she also enjoys hiking and camping in the off-season.
